As many as 59 people have been identified in Indore who attended the Tablighi Jamaat event. These people have been quarantined despite not showing any symptoms. "59 people in Indore have been identified who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat event. They have no symptoms of COVID-19 for now and have been placed under quarantine," said Dr Praveen Jadia, Chief Medical Officer, Indore.

The total number of coronavirus positive cases in India reached 2,301, while the death toll stands at 56, the Health Ministry said on Friday. Out of these 2,301 total COVID-19 cases, 2,088 are active cases. The numbers mean India now has more active coronavirus cases than China, the country from where the coronavirus pandemic began. China has so far recorded 81,620 coronavirus cases out of which 76,571 people have recovered and 3,322 have died. This leaves China with 1,727 active coronavirus cases.

Coronavirus in Maharashtra: With 17 new coronavirus cases coming to light in the city, the number of cases rose to 235 on Thursday while three COVID-19 patients died, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said. Earlier, state health officials had put the number of new cases in Mumbai at 57, but according to a civic official, 40 of these cases had already come to light through testing at private labs and were only confirmed by the government on Thursday. The number of demarcated containment areas in the city, meanwhile, was increased to 212.

A 35-year-old doctor in Mumbai's Dharavi tested positive for coronavirus on Friday. This is the third COVID-19 positive case from Dharavi in the last couple of days. "His family is put in quarantine, they'll be tested today for coronavirus. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation tracing his contacts. Giani Nirmal Singh Khalsa, a Padma Shri awardee and former Hazoori Raagi at Amritsar's Golden Temple has died after getting infected with coronavirus on Thursday morning, a health official informed. State Bank of India, the country's largest lender, gave a three-month relief to borrowers under its settlement schemes amid the coronavirus crisis today. This came days after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said that all lending institutions, including banks and housing finance companies, will have to give its borrowers a three-month moratorium on term loans.
