59 residents of Indore who attended Tablighi Jamaat event quarantined; COVID-19 cases mount to 112

As many as 59 people have been identified in Indore who attended the Tablighi Jamaat event. These people have been quarantined despite not showing any symptoms. "59 people in Indore have been identified who had attended the Tablighi Jamaat event. They have no symptoms of COVID-19 for now and have been placed under quarantine," said Dr Praveen Jadia, Chief Medical Officer, Indore.

Pakistan: Clashes breaks out in Karachi after locals attack cops amid coronavirus lockdown

Amid coronavirus lockdown in Pakistan, clashes broke out in Karachi's Liaquatabad area after locals pelted stones at police personnel deployed to enforce new curbs on gatherings including Friday prayers to contain the spread of coronavirus. Karachi police arrested seven people including a prayer leader on charges of violating lockdown measures and manhandling policemen. They were booked under terror charges along with other sections.

US sees record 1,480 COVID-19 deaths in 24 hours; Trump issues fresh guidelines

On Friday, USA and France were the countries with the highest number of casualties with 1,321 and 1,120 respectively. Total deaths in the United States have crossed the 7,000 mark while in France there have been 6,507 deaths thus far.

Decades old malaria-drug Hydroxychloroquine appears to have some good results in the treatment of coronavirus patients, US president Donald Trump has said. "We continue to study the effectiveness of Hydroxychloroquine and other therapies in the treatment and prevention of the virus and will keep the American people fully informed in our findings," Trump told reporters during a press briefing at the White House on Friday. Trump said that it looked as if Hydroxychloroquine is having some good results.

Tablighi Jamaat case: Over 500 foreigners found living in Delhi mosques amid coronavirus scare

Over 500 foreign Muslim preachers have been found to be staying in more than 15 mosques in the national capital, police said. These foreign nationals are hiding in different places as they are unable to move out of the country due to the lockdown announced by the Central government in view of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. A police officer said that during raids conducted by the Delhi Police in several places across the national capital, these preachers were found to be hiding in 16-17 places.
