A doctor working at a government hospital in Delhi has been tested positive for novel coronavirus. According to the information received, the doctor was deployed at Delhi State Cancer Hospital and was tested positive after he developed symptoms for COVID-19. Kin of the doctor, who had returned from the UK, was previously found infected with the virus after which the samples of the doctor were collected. Preparations are underway to convert the facility, which provides treatment mostly to victims of road accidents, into a dedicated COVID-19 hospital, official sources said, adding that initially, it will have around 260 beds. Govt says reports of COVID-19 lockdown extension not true
The government has rejected news reports that claimed that the COVID-19 lockdown will be extended. As of now, India is under a 21-day lockdown that will end on April 14. Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba clarified that reports of lockdown extension on certain sections and in social media are not true.
